Placement Testing
The Placement Test is used to determine how equipped a student is for enrollment in college courses. Testing is required for all STC programs. Each program has a set of minimum scores that must be met; failure to reach those scores will result in a student being required to take additional courses called Learning Support courses. The test covers three areas: reading, writing/grammar, and mathematics/algebra. Please refer to the calendar link on the STC website for test dates and times.
Under most circumstances, STC utilizes the COMPASS Test for placement purposes. Please refer to the following links for information and practice materials to prepare for the COMPASS Test.
