Certified Literate Community Program
The Certified Literate Community Program (CLCP) is a non-profit community collaboration to promote and support the adult education program in the local community. The communities participating in the CLCP initiative determine their needs through a community needs assessment. The CLCP community network is composed of business and industry, faith-based groups, volunteers, civic groups, local government agencies, media, social service agencies, and schools.
The Southeastern Tri-County CLCP was formed in 2001 by Montgomery, Tattnall, and Toombs Counties and was the first tri-county CLCP in the state. They completed their participating status in 2010 when they reached their projected number of GEDs in nine years. They were certified by the State Board of the Technical College System of Georgia in 2011. Additional information on the Certified Literate Community Program can be found at www.tcsg.edu.
