STC's PN Program Ranked #5 in Georgia
May 22, 2017 – Southeastern Technical College’s (STC) Practical Nursing program was ranked #5 in the top 10 LPN programs in Georgia by PracticalNursing.org. (http://www.practicalnursing.org/lpn-programs/georgia)
Qualifications for this achievement are based on NCLEX-PN pass rates from all LPN and LVN programs offered throughout the state. PracticalNursing.org filters out programs with low pass rates and focuses on schools that produce high pass rates within the last five years. After analyzing the pass rates, the remaining schools are then judged on other characteristics such as number of registered students and the number of years the school has offered the NCLEX-PN program.
Out of 22 analyzed schools in Georgia, Southeastern Technical College holds fifth place with their outstanding Practical Nursing program. Ranking above other prestigious colleges like Savannah Tech and Dalton State, STC scored 95.35 out of 100 in PracticalNursing.org’s evaluation.
“After analyzing nursing programs in Georgia, it became evident that Southeastern Technical College not only supports their students during their time on campus, but also prepares them for a career beyond Southeastern Tech,” states PracticalNursing.org President Bryce Hall. “The strong LPN program prepares students to conquer the NCLEX-PN and produces graduates who have the ability to carry out what they learned into the healthcare world.”
Core classes and guided clinical experience provided by STC ensures that students in this program will be prepared for the NCLEX-PN. STC works hard to continuously provide their Practical Nursing students with a well rounded education that will support them throughout their nursing career.
Over the past five years, STC’s Practical Nursing Program has had an average pass rate of 97.29% on the state licensure exams; with a 100% pass rate in 2016. Their average job placement rate over the last five years is 98.98%; holding 100% between 2014 and 2015.
Beth Hendrix, MPH, MSN RN, Practical Nursing Program Director is extremely proud of the success of her program and the honor it is to be recognized by PracticalNursing.org.
Hendrix states: “We are very proud to be recognized as being one of the top 5 Practical Nursing programs in the state. This success is due, largely, to faculty being fully committed to educating nurses; and the hard work of our students who demonstrate the ability to deliver safe, quality nursing care to patients.”
