A Bright Future for Early Childhood Care and Education Students
April 12, 2018 – Bright from the Start visited students in the Early Childhood Care and Education Program at Southeastern Technical College (STC), last month. Bright from the Start is responsible for meeting the child care and early education needs of Georgia’s children and their families. Charlotte Pelz, a representative from Bright from the Start, discussed incentives to work in the childcare industry while students are still in school.
Students who are eligible can receive funding and awards for up to 80% of their tuition in addition to support stipends on a per semester basis. Students who continue their education in early childhood care could also receive monetary awards for earning higher credentials or degrees.
"Continuing in your education in this field is a must," Kay Wilson, Early Childhood Care and Education Instructor, said. "This is an incredible opportunity for any childhood education student who is employed in the industry."
