Air Conditioning Technology Welcomes a New Instructor
July 19, 2017 – The Air Conditioning Technology (ACT) program is one of the many programs offered at Southeastern Technical College (STC). This year, STC welcomed Vince Scott as the certified instructor for Air Conditioning Technology.
The ACT program prepares students for careers in the growing heating and air conditioning industry. STC offers students a focused education on air conditioning theory and the practical application of the necessary skills for successful employment. Because this field is always advancing, it requires a well educated and motivated instructor who is determined to see his students excel.
Vince Scott is a local Swainsboro High School graduate who enhanced his education by attending Swainsboro Technical Institute (now Southeastern Technical College). While attending Swainsboro Tech, he completed the Air Conditioning Technology program. He is certified in many diverse fields of technology such as 609 MACKS Mobil Air Condition Society, ESCO Certified in Safe Handling of 410a Refrigerant, ESCO EPA Certified as a Universal Technician, Mazak Laser Trained Operations, and Metal Stamping Maintenance.
“I am excited about being a member of a team of great teachers here at STC,” states Vince. “I am looking forward to working with students to teach them a trade that will help them better themselves in the future.”
Vince has been a part of the local Swainsboro community for many years. His family consists of his wife, April, and his two children, Colby and Jaycee. April graduated from the Cosmetology program at Southeastern Tech and Colby is currently a welding student at STC.
Aside from his work as a STC instructor, Vince is a member and serving Deacon of Dellwood Baptist Church. He is also a member of the Swainsboro Masonic Lodge 244.
“I am thankful for what I received from Swainsboro Tech (now Southeastern Tech) years ago and I want to pass this on to the future generations,” concludes Vince.
