Southeastern Tech Graduates Class of 2012-2013
May 13, 2013 - Over 120 peopled walked on stage as students and left as graduates in two Southeastern Technical College ceremonies held at the Swainsboro-Emanuel County and Toombs auditoriums on April 30 and May 7, respectively.
Ninety five Vidalia graduates and 38 Swainsboro graduates from the 2012-2013 class met STC President Dr. Cathryn Mitchell on stage and received that sought-after document.
“I extend to each of you my heartfelt congratulations and best wishes in your future endeavors,” said Mitchell.
The guest speaker at both ceremonies was LaNette Holloman, the Georgia Occupational Award of Leadership winner for 2012. Holloman shared her struggles with teenage pregnancy, unemployment and homelessness, all of which she overcame through technical education.
“We all congratulate you,” said Holloman. “You have done an amazing job. You have accomplished something that many stopped along the way. So congratulations, and I wish you so much success.”
Holloman implored the students to not view this as a finish line, but as a milestone leading to greater things.
“The world has been waiting on you,” said Holloman. “Go out and make your mark.”
