Three STC Dental Hygiene Students Named Hinman Scholars
April 15, 2014 - Students from Alston, Glennville and Soperton were honored at the 2014 Thomas P. Hinman Dental Meeting in Atlanta on March 29.
The students, in the Southeastern Technical College Dental Hygiene program, each received a $750 scholarship at the annual dentistry summit held at the Georgia World Congress Center.
“These students have excelled in the dental hygiene program,” said Jennifer Gramiak, program director for STC Dental Hygiene. “They are very deserving of this recognition."
Chelsea Lewis of Alston, Casi McDonald of Soperton and Hayze Miller of Glennville were selected by the faculty of their dental hygiene program to be STC’s Hinman Scholars. As part of their selection, the students had their Atlanta hotel stay paid for by the Hinman Meeting.
The 2014 meeting was the 102nd meeting of the Hinman Dental Society of Atlanta, which has been giving scholarships to dental hygiene students since 1989.
