Practical Nursing Graduates Honored at STC
August 12, 2019 - The Practical Nursing program on the Vidalia and Swainsboro campuses of Southeastern Technical College (STC) held a pinning ceremony for its summer 2019 graduates on July 30.
The graduates were Megan Losolla, Phillip Lupo and Julie Shepard from Vidalia, Tyler Durden and Montana Oglesby from Twin City, Tiffany Parker and Jerica Tucker from Metter, Calli Drake from Summertown, Brandi Eversole from Eden, Spencer Harrell from Eastman, Samantha Lewis from Millen, and Alisha McCullough from Soperton.
Graduate Phillip Lupo thanked the audience of friends and family saying, “It was your encouragement and help, no matter big or small, that kept us on course.” He said of the instructors, “They are mentors to be honored. Through us, may their influence be continuous.”
“The subject of Nursing is much more than passing out medications and following orders of medical doctors. We are the caregivers. We are the consolers. We are the educators. We are the investigators. Most importantly, we are the patient’s advocate,” said Lupo.
“The Practical Nursing faculty would like to congratulate each student on their success in the Practical Nursing Program. Their compassion and desire to help those who are in need will be an asset to our community. We are proud and excited to send these students into the healthcare industry, knowing that each one will make a difference,” said Rachel Sikes, Practical Nursing instructor.
