STC-Swainsboro Practical Nursing Graduates Class of 2013
December 11, 2013 - The Southeastern Technical College Swainsboro campus practical nursing class of 2013 graduated in a pinning ceremony on Dec. 10 in the Maurice Boatwright Auditorium.
“I am [so proud] of these young ladies,” said Angie Headley, an STC practical nursing instructor. “They have worked so hard for this. This is a very important night for them, and it’s an important night for us as well.”
Graduating at the ceremony were: Ashley Barfield, Cindy McGaha and Lindsay Yawn of Vidalia; Nicole Brown of Swainsboro; Shavonta Bynes and Kristen Hodges of Wadley; Kesha Campbell of Statesboro; Cassandra Deen of Claxton; and Amanda Morrison of Kite.
The ceremony, led by Headley, touched on what is required of nurses, both in demeanor and ability.
“Intellect is important, technical skills are important, and these girls have certainly proven that they have the intellectual and technical skills needed to perform as nurses,” said Headley. “But more importantly, these girls have shown that their hearts are in the right place. They are kind, they are caring, they are compassionate and we are very proud of them.”
