We are located in Building 4 on the Swainsboro campus on 346 Kite Road. Our phone number is (478) 289-2241.

Mission Statement and Goals

The mission/vision of the Southeastern Technical College Child Development Center is to serve as a lab school for Early Childhood Care and Education students and to provide the highest quality care and education for all children in its care.

In carrying out this mission/vision:

  • We constantly strive to make the environment safe and aesthetically pleasing and stimulating.
  • We strive to make sure that each child is learning what is developmentally appropriate for their age by offering a variety of hands-on, daily-life-related, play-centered activities.
  • We believe that the appropriate curriculum will address the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical needs of all children.
  • We believe in education and provide a staff that is committed to excellence by showing compassion, providing trust, demonstrating credibility, and respecting the diversity of each child.
  • We believe that parents need to be kept informed and have opportunities for involvement in classroom activities.

Our goals are to:

    • Provide quality education for all children regardless of the child’s interest, abilities, needs, and background.
    • Give children the opportunity to solve problems, to be creative and build self-esteem.
    • Weave learning that takes place at home and continue it during the early years.
    • Demonstrate the standards of quality care in the area and to set the example for other child care programs.
