Adult Literacy
Southeastern Technical College is offering FREE GED classes.
All of our classes are free and so are all the books and materials!
Students who get their GED and continue their education at Southeastern Technical College will receive a $500 voucher towards their education!
The mission of STC's Adult Literacy Program is to enable every adult learner in our service delivery area to acquire the necessary basic skills to compete in the workplace, strengthen family foundations, and exercise full citizenship.
What is Adult Literacy?
- BASIC EDUCATION-The student will learn the basic skills in reading, writing, and math.
- GED PREPARATION-The student will learn the basic competencies in writing skills, social studies, science, literature and the arts, and mathematics needed to pass the GED exam.
- ENGLISH AS 2nd LANGUAGE
The Adult Literacy Center of Southeastern Tech has four sites to serve the citizens of Montgomery, Tattnall, and Toombs Counties:

Southeastern Tech administers the GED exam once a month. Persons must register on the Monday before the exam at 5:00 p.m. A driver's license or picture ID and $95 cash must be presented at registration. Each retest part is $19. Each person who is not 20 years of age must have special permission to test as granted by the State Office of Adult Literacy. The application for special permission testing must be made one month prior to testing.
