Ryan Flowers and Matt Farmer
Adult Champion, Ryan Flowers
Ryan Flowers is an advocate for Technical Education as well as a strong believer in Tech Prep. He serves as the Southeastern Tech Prep Consortium Chairman and on the Marketing Management Advisory Board for Southeastern Technical College.
Ryan is the Marketing Education Work-study and Youth Apprenticeship Coordinator at Vidalia Comprehensive High School. He serves as DECA club advisor, Yearbook Advertising advisor and Indian Star Advertising advisor. He received his Industry Certification in Marketing Education in 2004, which demonstrates his belief in educating students of the benefits of technical education and work-based learning.
As a leader in the education field, Ryan Flowers is a champion not only to his school, but also for Technical Education.
Student Champion, Matt Farmer
Matt Farmer is a senior at Montgomery County High School in the Comprehensive Business Education work-study program. He has been involved with the Business Information Technology Program for the past four years. Matt has completed courses in Microsoft Office 2000, Computer Applications, Business Math, Digital Media and Design, and Video Production and Editing.
Matt has produced several video presentations for the Technology and Career Education Advisory meetings and sports presentations which include statistical data analysis, sound, graphs, animation, and still graphics and video. He is very creative and imaginative when working with presentations.
Matt is also an active member of the FBLA, FFA, FCA, and Literary Club. He holds the office of secretary in FBLA. He is layout editor of the Eagle yearbook using his designing and editing skills for the yearbook. Matthew has received several awards such as the following throughout his high school career: National Honor Roll (3yrs), Top 10% 9th & 12th, Honor Roll 9th-12th, "Who’s Who" among high school students, Highest Overall Avg. from 9th- 11th in Tech. Prep in Science & Math, 2nd place Boys Quartet, and Pass Plus on Georgia High School Graduation Test, English/Math/Social Studies.
After graduation, Matt plans to pursue a degree in Graphic Arts and Video Production.
