Car Audio System Installer Certificate Program
The Car Audio System Installer certificate program is designed to meet the needs of the student who has interest in the design and installation of mobile audio systems for personal and/or professional opportunities as well as provide an entrance point for high school students into the Electronics programs of study. The Car Audio System Installer certificate will provide students with an exciting beginning into the field of Electronics. Students may choose to utilize the classes from the Car Audio System Installer certificate for credit towards a diploma or degree in Electronics. Students within an Electronics program can acquire the Car Audio System Installer certificate as part of the diploma and/or degree program(s). Areas included in the Car Audio System Installer certificate are: direct current circuits, alternating current circuits, soldering informed buying decisions, head units, equalizers, crossover networks, amplifiers, impedance matching, speakers, speaker enclosures, sound, and grounding.
EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES
Completers of the Car Audio System Installer certificate are prepared for car audio technician positions and employment within the area of mobile electronics. A total of 16 credit hours are required for completion of the program. Completers of the program receive a Car Audio System Installer Technical Certificate of Credit.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION
The program uses curriculum by Marcraft which provides the Mobile Electronics Certified Professional (MECP) certification. Upon completion of the program students will be encourage to take the exam to become a MECP.
ADMISSIONS CRITERIA
- Submit a completed application and application fee;
- Be at least 16 years of age;
- Submit official high school transcript or GED transcript;
- Submit official college transcripts, if applicable;
- Meet the following assessment requirements:

CAR AUDIO SYSTEM INSTALLER CURRICULUM
The standard curriculum for the Car Audio System Installer is designed for the quarter system. The certificate requires 16 credit hours to complete the program and can generally be completed in 3 or fewer quarters.
